Job Duties:
The APS Regional Director – Low Country Regional Director will provide day-to-day direction and management of the Adult Protective Services program to cover the 10 Low Country counties and other counties/regions as needed. This includes direct supervision of the 10 counties and monitoring of the Adult Protective Services intake process. Directs and manages the Adult Protective Services program in an area of the state, and ensures goals to achieve stability and safety of vulnerable adults are met. Interprets policy, procedure, statutes, and federal requirements and assists with development and review of Adult Protective Services policy. Ensures agency strategic plans are implemented; and ensures conformity in the delivery of Adult Protective Services in each county in accordance with state and federal requirements, agency policy and best practice standards. Assists the Director of Adult Protective Services Regional Operations in evaluating Adult Protective Services program performance in the county and area assigned and ensures the development of and monitoring of practice improvement strategies in response to Adult Protective Services performance data, including, but not limited to the results of qualitative and quantitative reviews, push reports, and other ad hoc reports produced both internally and externally. Directs and manages program to assist with unmet results and ensures Adult Protectives Services Program Coordinators have the necessary support to deliver Adult Protective Services within their counties and areas with efficiency and excellence. Maintains contact with designated counties and administers consultation and on-site support (over night travel may be required) to assist county DSS offices on critical cases and other problematic issues/concerns. Assists in the development of training materials, as well as the planning and facilitation of training sessions for Adult Protective Services staff, government agencies, and community partners. Also, represents Adult Protective Services on internal and external committees and builds working relationships with community partners. Maintains knowledge of innovative best practices for working with vulnerable adults by attending educational workshops, conferences, seminars and reviewing publications. Ensures that Personal Identifying Information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. Protects the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data. Performs other related job duties as required or requested. Minimum and Additional Requirements A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of experience in any combination of social work, management, business administration, administrative services or public administration. A Master’s degree and one (1) year of experience in any combination of social work, management, business administration, administrative services or public administration.
