JOB DESCRIPTION
Certified Peer Support Specialist –
LOSS Team SUMMARY:
This is a highly responsible, highly specialized position for a Certified Peer Support Specialist who is comfortable interacting with survivors of death by suicide. This position works out of the Mental Health America of Southeast Florida/FISP agency to provide services throughout Broward County. The position is for the LOSS Team program (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors). The position is Part-Time with on-call availability to respond to assistance with survivors of suicide loss within a timely manner. The position requires an individual to assist survivors with supports both emotionally and operationally including wraparound care services. This position is limited to provide LOSS Team (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) services to individuals and families who reside in Broward County or whose loved one lived in Broward County.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- HS diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a Level I and Level II background check.
- Bi-lingual is a plus but not required.
- Currently Peer Specialist Certified by the State of Florida
- Availability to be contacted within 24 hours notice of death by suicide survivor to develop a plan to reach out to the survivor.
- A lived experience of having lost a loved one through suicide preferred.
- Some case management experience preferred.
WRAP I & II
trained (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) preferred.
