Prevention Specialist 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 1726 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and community-focused Prevention Specialist to join our Prevention Team at Kids First of Florida. This role is responsible for supporting referred families through parenting education and connection to community resources. The Prevention Specialist works closely with the Prevention Coordinator. The Kids First of Florida Prevention Team is currently grant-funded and works to raise awareness in the community about child abuse and neglect prevention. Responsibilities Assist with community outreach, such as but not limited to child abuse and neglect prevention education Track funds expended for prevention services such as rent and electric payments Inform the DCF CPIs and/or FSCs, including documentation in FSFN, such as but not limited to, the status of services provided to families referred to these services by a DCF CPI or FSC Participate in the overall planning and engagement of services Provide in-home services to include completion of assessments, prevention plans and home visits. Currently KFF’s Prevention Program is providing in-home parenting education. Coordinate in-home services with other professionals Maintain a directory of community resources, providers, and services Q ualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human service-related field 1-2 years post-Bachelor’s degree experience working with children and families in social services Excellent assessment skills and intervention strategies Ability to handle confidential information appropriately Strong verbal and written communication skills.
