Through the love of God and the support of our community , we provide life-changing care that offers men and women the chance for personal and spiritual wholeness. Summary We are seeking a dedicated Development Assistant / Volunteer Coordinator to join our team at the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing our donor database, volunteer program, fostering relationships with community members, and ensuring that our volunteers are effectively trained and supported. Your contributions will directly impact our mission of transforming lives in the Middle Georgia community. Responsibilities Manage the donor database functions to include: Processing and entering all donations into Donor Perfect software, ensuring up-to-date records and data integrity. Collaborate with the Development Director to ensure accurate and timely donor communications in accordance with the established Stewardship Plan. Create and distribute donor reports as requested by leadership, development, and accounting. Collaborate with the leadership team to promote the growth and effective use of the Mission’s social media platforms, assisting with the creation of media content and ensuring timely posting on the Mission’s social media sites. Assist with website updates Maintain an up-to-date Community Partnership resources database of service area churches, corporations, civic organizations, schools, and other identified groups. Utilize Partnership Resources to coordinate monthly speaking engagements for leadership and program staff, monthly in-kind donations and product drives, and monthly campus group tours. Work with Mission staff to identify volunteer needs. Recruit volunteers according to specified needs through social media and other means. Maintain a complete and up-to-date Volgistics volunteer database. Coordinate and perform volunteer training, which includes completing all necessary paperwork, Ministry Safe training, staff introductions, and a campus tour. Conduct staff training on Volgistics volunteer database and volunteer program features as needed. Maintain consistent communication with all volunteers regarding new volunteer needs/opportunities, Mission news, and other activities. Assist the Director of Development in administrative duties relating to grants and other development efforts. Track monthly Mission statistics and in-kind donations. Assist in planning and executing special events and Mission activities. Coordinate the Mission Bell Newsletter according to a set schedule and send eblast each month. Organize creative content, create and submit files and proofs, and upload the newsletter to the website. Oversee the resident development work therapy assistant Ensure a structured Christ-centered promotion of the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia. Attends all staff meetings and staff functions and provides reporting and goals as directed. Requirements Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience working with donor, client, or data management systems is required. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to create and manage spreadsheets and reports with accuracy and efficiency. Experience with volunteer management is preferred. Must have sound judgment, initiative, and flexibility. Must complete criminal background check. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including public speaking abilities. Experience in training development is highly desirable. A background in social work or community outreach is beneficial.
