Job Description

Human Service Professional (HSP) HOI Residential Program Riverdale, GA 30296 About Us HOI a residential group home that serves those who need additional support. We aim to assist individuals who have experienced challenges early in life and provide an environment where they can thrive. Job Description Human Service Professional is responsible for coordinating and providing day-to-day treatment services (i.e. mental health services, dental, physicals, school, court, recreational, family visits and all related services) to youth and adolescents.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other related field
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience with children and preferably teenagers
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Responds appropriately to cultural differences among the Agency’s service population
  • Current and valid driver’s license with good driving history (super speeder tickets will disqualify you for employment)
  • Able to work in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • Must have RBWO Foundations Training or the ability to complete 40 hour RBWO Foundations Training within guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date case records and other documentation according to established requirements and procedures for ORCC, OPM, GA+ Score & Shines;
  • Provides consistent case management services to residents;
  • Has the ability to understand, communicate, and work effectively with residents in care with backgrounds of involving abuse, neglect, loss and trauma;
  • Has the ability to set limits with residents while also professionally handling any negative reactions that might occur resulting from setting limits/ discipline;
  • Provides counseling to youth around day to day functioning while also working closely with the mental health provider, DFSC, Educational Coach, other residential staff and youth’s family members to insure consistency and good coordination of services;
  • Assists Program Manager in Screening, evaluating, and selecting youth who are most likely to benefit from the program;
  • Maintain and enhance skills and expertise through participation in professional organizations and staff development activities;
  • Assists in providing life skills training to support services to youth;
  • Assist residents with Ansell Casey Life Skills Assessment;
  • Schedule may require some evening or weekend work to cover appointments with youth;
  • Interpret Agency policies to clients, community agencies, and referral sources;
  • Contact courts and other social service agencies regarding youth or for purpose of making inter- agency referrals;
  • Provide transportation, when necessary, for youth to attend scheduled appointments;
  • Make contact with school officials, doctors, dentists, and other community resources as required by the situation
Experience:

at-risk children/teenagers direct care: 2 years (Preferred)
