Full Job Description Job Summary:

esp is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for the Athens Programs Team. The Athens Volunteer Coordinator’s main role is to recruit, train, manage, and develop volunteers across all esp Athens programs and events each year. The Athens Volunteer Coordinator has a vital role in coordinating 1,000 volunteers for esp programs and events. esp is seeking an individual who is passionate about changing communities for the better and being the driving force behind volunteer involvement. It is important for this role to be filled by someone who has the ability to multitask and has a team-mindset. The Volunteer Coordinator position will begin by May 27, 2025.

Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies for year round coverage Train, schedule and manage volunteers for all Athens programs Manage all operations of volunteer systems and communication platforms Leadership, Management, and Accountability of Volunteer Assistants and Interns Provide assistance in the safe execution of

Athens Programs Other Functions and Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading esp’s year-round volunteers including youth, college students, adults, and families in the community Identify, plan and execute all esp volunteer opportunities Cultivate and manage relationships with volunteers in our community Create an annual volunteer calendar, ensuring a diverse portfolio of volunteers can be engaged in the mission of esp year-round Oversee the implementation of volunteer service opportunities and events Plan and implement youth development and education programs for elementary, middle and high school students in our community Identify target audiences to invite into the mission of esp for volunteer involvement Manage and coach volunteers during programs to ensure participants are properly cared for Provide support to the Athens Development Team by fostering volunteer opportunities for special events, corporate partners, committees, and engaged adult donors Lead fundraising efforts amongst volunteers and staff involved in year round 360 programs Provide coaching to esp Volunteer Assistants and Interns Be a strong advocate for keeping the esp Athens Building and Assets in great condition, looking for ways to continually improve

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong collaborator actively seeking input across the organization Ability to engage with community members, build meaningful relationships, and advance the esp mission with them Both strategic and performance-oriented; meeting daily needs and project deadlines Strong time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple volunteer needs across all esp teams Ability to lead the implementation of a successful volunteer training program A keen sense of developing charismatic, concise, and influential presentations to impact the community everywhere you go Experience successfully managing multiple projects and competing needs, always prioritizing what is in the best interest of esp’s mission Exhibits attention to detail in executing a variety of volunteer opportunities Helping tell the esp story, your “why”, and encouraging others to join the esp mission as well Strong written and verbal communicator, with the ability to lead meetings, speak to community audiences, share esp’s mission, and communicate with diverse audiences Ability to think strategically about how we can innovate new and ongoing volunteer opportunities Proficient in Google Suite and comfortable with technology and multiple management platforms
