Director of Operations Job Summary:

The Coordinator of Volunteers will oversee all aspects of the Hotel Hope’s volunteers including recruiting, training, scheduling and supervising volunteers. We are looking for a detail-oriented and focused person to support Hotel Hope’s volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Directly supports Hotel Hope’s mission, vision, values, and goals. Responsible for volunteers who assist with hotel operations. Coordinator will monitor, coach, recruit, train, and provide assistance to volunteers as they serve. Coordinates the volunteers in the following areas: food service, receptionists, child care, service groups and any other volunteers needed at Hotel Hope. Attends and participates in staff meetings Works collaboratively with all staff members to ensure effective delivery of services and open communications. Prepares reports, documentation and collects data for all of Hotel Hope volunteers. Works with the Director of Operations to develop and maintain volunteer databases. Schedules all volunteers using

software. Maintains data base of all volunteers Tracks hours of volunteers Provides extended services as needed which may be outside the range of normal duties during emergency and disaster situations. Works with operation staff to address needs of families Works reception desk in emergency situations Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor Degree in related filed Accurate and complete recording of data Fluency in and effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with diverse populations including those facing challenges in the areas of mental health, and child services. Calm demeanor; Able to work under pressure; Able to respond to a crisis situation, health or safety issue and take appropriate and immediate action. Able to maintain privacy and confidentiality of guests. Ability to work flexible schedules and/or be on-call for holidays, evenings and weekends. Knowledge of universal precautions and what constitutes a medical or situational emergency. Understanding of mandated reporting laws. Ability to be flexible and work as a team player. Mastery of Office Suite. Abilities Maintain confidentiality Effectively work cooperatively with others Establish and maintain professional boundaries with guests, volunteers and co-workers Communicate corrective behavior needs, actions, and consequences to guests in a clear, positive, and discreet manner with a focus on desirable behavior as needed

Physical/Visual/Mental Demands:

Position requires ability to respond and communicate effectively with staff, guests, collaborative agencies, and volunteers. Position requires attention to surroundings and dealing effectively with sometimes challenging behaviors. Physical access to all areas of facility is necessary.

Typical Working Conditions:
Hours:

35 hours per week. Some evening and Some weekends. Scheduled hours are arranged with your supervisor upon hire.
