Job Description
Employment/ Housing Coordinator Description The Employment/HousingCoordinator in the Young Adult Supported Community Living program willwork with young adults aged 18 – 22 who need support obtaining andmaintaining employment, along with housing once they transition from theprogram. Based in Hampden County, this is an engaging, rewarding job foran individual who is truly dedicated to making a difference in thecommunity and the lives of young adults. This is a Monday through Fridayposition that requires some flexibility for weekend hours. Position’sEssential Functions Support young adults to: ? Gather necessarydocumentation to obtain housing. ? Find suitable housing by completingonline applications, contacting landlords. ? Maintain housing throughadvocacy and mediation. ? Improve job development skills. ? Obtain andmaintain a job. ? Learn independent living skills by teaching, rolemodeling. ? Participate actively in their community. ? Obtaining andmaintaining employment. ? Achieve goals related to employment andeducation. ? Obtain all appropriate benefits. ? Achieve sustainableincome through regular employment. ? Perform other similar or relatedduties as assigned or as necessary.
Additional functions:
? Completedocumentation requirements including progress notes, data entry. ? Jobcoaching for all young adults served. ? Help obtain housing for youngadults transitioning out of the program. ? Perform housing readinessassessments. ? Transport as needed. ? Perform vocational assessments ?Complete thorough housing inspection to ensure safety and suitability.
Requirements Valid driver’s license, sufficient automobile insurance,acceptable driving record, and a safe reliable vehicle during workinghours. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time,prioritize tasks, take initiative, follow through, and workcooperatively as a member of a team. Good oral, written, computer, andorganizational skills. Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changingneeds of the program participants. Strong interpersonal skills,patience, caring, and compassion. Must be able to pass and maintaincertifications in CPR, and first aid. Must be at least eighteen yearsold. Education and Experience ? Bachelor’s Degree. ? Previousexperience helping individuals obtain employment preferred. ? Previousexperience helping individuals obtain housing preferred. ? Bilingualpreferred.
