Full Job Description Description:

Working alongside the Director of Housing, the Housing Resources & Volunteer Coordinator will assist with operations of our Supportive Housing Program. This includes management of apartment setup and furnishing, assisting with in-kind donations, and coordination of volunteers to assist with these processes and other opportunities that support Amethyst Place operations. This position is highly collaborative and cross-functional across departments. The ideal candidate will have excellent relationship-building skills with a desire for an active career that is largely on the move and not at a desk. This rewarding position will ensure that all new families have a fully furnished apartment to move into and that community relationships are nurtured to support Amethyst Place’s Noble Cause.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Apartment Furnishing:

Manage apartment make-ready process, ensuring apartments adhere to HUD Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and are fully furnished for resident move-ins. Prepare and furnish apartments alongside volunteers. Coordinate with property management group as needed regarding apartment turnovers.

In-kind Donations:

Assist with sorting, storage, and distribution of in-kind donations. Manage and maintain storage areas. Assist with data entry and preparation of reports regarding in-kind donations.

Volunteer Coordination:

Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, retention, and recognition. Manage and update Salesforce, including scheduling shifts and tracking volunteer hours and contacts for churches, schools, community partners, media outlets, and legislative offices. Maintain volunteer files and agency forms as required. Supervise Amethyst Place residents who need volunteer hours. Other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

Strong organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and schedules. Experience building relationships with external stakeholders and working with volunteers. Ability to lift over 25lbs and move household furnishings, including upstairs. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for Amethyst Place’s Noble Cause.
