About the Agency
This opportunity is a Social Services Specialist II position in the ICPC Unit within MS Department of Child Protection Services. The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is committed to protecting and nurturing Mississippi’s at-risk children and families. MDCPS offers a variety of positions statewide, including social work positions providing case management services and working with potential foster families, supervisor positions providing clinical and administrative support, and agency support positions such as policy development, human resources, information technology, program management, training, and budgeting/finance. About the Position
This is a time-limited (NS-14) position. Duties will include processing ICPC cases. This includes parent, foster, and public adoption request. They are also responsible for case management which includes obtaining status updates and processing 100B forms for placement/closure MACWIS data entry, and NEICE data entry. They will also be responsible for process the ICPC email, NEICE mail U.S and FedEx mail. This includes sorting and assigning to respective ICPC consultants as well as setting up case files in Smartsheet and the ICPC SharePoint site. They will also process residential request and process private adoption request for children. They will assist in staff meeting to help update the division’s Smartsheet. They will assist in case management to help workers ensure that needed documents or processes are set up on cases as it pertains to the life of a case from start to closure.

Professional commitment and support to Field Operations staff is a priority. Efficient organizational, time management skills, good oral/written communication skills are a must. Positive work morale. Ability to be flexible in thinking and problem solving. Realistic expectations about the difficulty and challenges of the work. Ability to handle an often-unpredictable work environment. Willingness to learn and adapt to the environment, and to be a team player.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience. Appointing authority may require social worker’s license.
Hiring agency preferred qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in social work, social services, psychology, educational psychology, sociology, nursing, criminal justice, counseling, marriage and family therapy, family studies, or a related field. In this position the salary maybe based on education and qualifications
