Office of the President Job Summary The incumbent has daily responsibility for assisting with the coordination of developing and implementing initiatives that foster positive relationships between the University and surrounding communities. He/she assists with daily operations and provides programmatic support. Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the mission of the University and the Office of Economic Development & Community Engagement.
Knowledge of economic development principles and community relations.
Experience in developing and implementing community engagement strategies.
Proficient in computer skills, with the ability to research, collect, and analyze data, and prepare reports related to community engagement activities.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse community stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize, and execute community engagement programs and events.
Essential Job Functions
Serves as the primary staff assistant to the Director of Economic Development & Community Engagement
Assists with the development and execution of outreach strategies to engage with community members, businesses, and organizations
Represents the University at community events, meetings, and activities to build relationships and promote collaboration
Travels to community events and meetings
Works as needs in activities and events on evenings and weekends
Identifies and establishes partnerships with local businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to support economic development and community initiatives
Collaborates with internal departments to align university resources with community needs
Plans and oversees community engagement programs, workshops, and events to address the needs and interests of the communities
Collects, analyzes, and reports data related to community engagement activities, providing recommendations for future initiatives
Works closely with university faculty, staff, and students to integrate community engagement into academic and research initiatives

Bachelor’s degree in business, community development, urban planning, or related field.
Two years of relevant experience.
