SUPPORT SPECIALIST

You’ll work with shifts varying within business hours, ensuring flexibility while making a difference in our members’ lives. As a Community Support Specialist, you’ll start your day by assisting members with activities of daily living, such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting, to foster independence at home and in the community. Collaborating closely with case managers and families, you’ll develop and adjust individualized care plans tailored to each member’s goals. Throughout the day, you’ll facilitate skill development in communication, social interaction, vocational preparation, and life skills, empowering our members with the tools they need for greater self-sufficiency. You’ll advocate for our members in community settings, accompany them to appointments and events, and ensure their progress is documented accurately and communicated effectively with the treatment team. If you can do this and meet the following requirements, you might be a perfect fit! High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license with car insurance and clean driving record Reliable transportation Ability to complete all training provided by Hinds’ Feet Farm within 30 days of hire, including CPR and First Aid certification, and alternatives to restrictive intervention training No substantiated findings of abuse or neglect listed on the

North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry Preferred:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a human services field (Allied Health, Psychology, Social Work, etc) 1+ year(s) of personal or professional experience with brain injury Experience Teaching or working with individuals with disabilities and/or mental health issues Experience or knowledge of the Armed Forces and disabled Veteran populations Proficiency in problem-solving and positive communication skills Experience as a leader who initiates and makes sound decisions in the best interest of those served
