Salary Range:
$18.46 to $23.07 per hour. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position. Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Community Support Services (CSS) transforms lives and community by supporting veterans, ending homelessness, treating substance use, and preventing and intervening in community and domestic violence. As a department in Mecklenburg County’s Health and Human Services Agency, CSS maximizes community partnerships and collaborative opportunities to improve access to services and advocate for the needs of special populations. Position Specific Information This is a part-time, temporary position, working 15 hours per week, with flexibility Monday – Friday between 8 AM to 5 PM. Work with families that have experienced domestic violence including adults, child witnesses, and teen dating violence victims. Position Summary Provides direct assistance to clients to facilitate access to services and service delivery. Responsibilities may vary depending on area of assignment, but may include completing client screening or intake, collecting information, assigning cases to a counselor or clinician, conducting research, sending out materials, conducting outreach and community education, and providing general customer service. Essential Functions Completes client screening and intake Assists in data entry, file maintenance, copying client information, etc Communicates daily with the public Communicates effectively and clearly to clients when explaining services Disseminates information on documents required, services available and community resources to clients in a professional manner Maintains up-to-date knowledge of available resources Makes referrals to the appropriate community resources Prepares reports as needed Reviews information provided by clients and determines if it meets basic requirements for eligibility Maintains records of services provided and contacts with clients Schedules appointments as necessary Conducts community education and outreach
Minimum Qualifications Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in related field.
Education:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted:
Yes Licenses and Certifications:
Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License Requires County Driving Privileges (CDP) Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required Preferred Qualifications Professional knowledge of domestic violence highly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field highly preferred, such as Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, etc. Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
