Foster/Volunteer Coordinator Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society 5664 Horatio Street, Utica, NY 13502

• Friday from 8:00am
• 5:00pm/ Saturday from 8:00am
• 4:00pm Communicate with and counsel people interested in adopting, fostering, and volunteering.

Provide outreach to recruit potential fosters and volunteers. Manage volunteer schedules and assignments to support daily shelter operations, events, outreach, and administrative needs. Maintain accurate volunteer records and hours using appropriate management systems. Coordinate volunteer support for fundraising and adoption events. Collaborate with staff to assess volunteer needs and ensure coverage. Manage the Foster and Volunteer website content. Screen, welcome, train, and be the point person for volunteers. Some after hours for questions/concerns from Fosters may take place. Ensure animals leaving the ASSHS have found a safe, appropriate match for their needs. Develop expertise in PetPoint database and ensure all records are current and up-to-date. May provide community education opportunities/represent the A-SSHS on behalf of the Executive Director. Ensure each animal in the care of the ASSHS has a high-quality, up-to-date photo. Provide info to post available animals on all online platforms (Website, PetPoint, Pet Finder, and others) using public appropriate photos. Runs the Paws & Pages Reading Program. Acts as a champion for the Humane Society’s mission—promoting animal welfare, representing the shelter positively in the community, and advocating for adoption and responsible pet ownership. Carry out other duties as assigned by Management.
