Immediate Needs:

Youth Workers and Activity Specialists compensation: $17-22/hour

Youth Workers Responsibilities:

Monitor and support student progress, providing encouragement and constructive feedback. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Collaborate with other Youth Workers, program coordinators, and school staff to ensure program success.

Youth Workers Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education, social work, or a related field preferred. Previous experience working with middle school students in an educational or recreational setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. Enthusiasm for working with youth and a commitment to their development and success.

Activity Specialist Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and lead a variety of activities, including arts, sports, STEM, and life skills, that align with the students’ interests and needs. Develop lesson plans that are age-appropriate, culturally responsive, and aligned with DYCD guidelines and standards. Facilitate activities that encourage teamwork, leadership, and positive social interactions. Work closely with other staff members, including Program Directors and Group Leaders, to ensure a cohesive and integrated program.

Activity Specialist Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two years of experience working with youth in an educational or recreational setting. Experience in planning and leading activities for diverse groups of students.
