Youth Behavioral Specialists Location:

CHOR Youth & Family Services |1010 Centre Ave. | Reading, PA 19606

Shifts:

2nd & 3rd (Shift’s include weekends, discussed during interview) 2nd Shift (2PM-10PM) 3rd Shift (10PM-6AM)

Youth Behavioral Specialists Position Requirements:

Must be at least 21 Years of Age Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) with a concentration in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or any Human Services field Associate’s Degree with at least 2 years’ experience working with youth. Required to work on weekends as scheduled by supervisor. Must past all pre-employment physical, drug screening includes background clearances (Child, Criminal, FBI, and DMV) Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors. Ability to demonstrate basic oral, written, and verbal communication. Must attend all required trainings followed by shadowing prior to working on the unit. Ability to work effectively among various levels of behaviors and maintain an atmosphere of safety, support, and guidance to ensure a positive environment. Physical Demands for all

Youth Care Workers:

The employee must have the physical ability to restrain a resident, if needed, while utilizing the tenets of Safe Crisis Management training.

Position Summary:

Provide supervision, guidance, boundaries, and directions to our residents. Demonstrate a variety of support, communication, compliance with CHOR’s Sanctuary principles. Assisting with the planning and supervising of programmed activities. Maintain safety, security of residents and facility at all times.
