EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As a Juvenile Justice Specialist, you will actively engage with a diverse population of court-adjudicated youth to make a difference in their lives; provide guidance, instruction, treatment, and specialized services in a secure or restricted setting; provide for the physical care, custody, and supervision of the youths’ daily activities that include recreation, housekeeping, personal hygiene, work assignments, and program requirements; assist professional staff in implementing treatment plans and reporting youths’ progress in attaining goals; and provide guidance in social and emotional growth by role modeling values and ideals that elicit a genuine desire in court-adjudicated youth to change behaviors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employmentThe Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
Work hours include shift work in a 24/7/365 operation, including holidays and weekends. 8-hour shifts with no duty-free lunch, 5-day workweek with 2 set regular days.1st shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM2nd shift: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PMTravel and overtime as needed. Overtime may be voluntary and possible mandatory.
May change based on operational needs.
Must be willing to accept employment at Youth Forestry Camp #3 and commute to this location in Huntingdon County.

Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $56,646.00 (before taxes).You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
