Job Description

Volunteer Coordinator – nonprofit 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 714 14th Street, Port Royal, SC 29935 We are looking for a competent Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and manage direct service volunteers including resource families. You will be responsible for allocating responsibilities and retaining the best people. It takes a competent leader to succeed in this profession. You should know how to distinguish talent and do everything possible to motivate and inspire. You must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience. The goal is to ensure that our organization is always staffed with the best and most reliable individuals, and that they are correctly utilized for the fulfilment of our mission. You will work in tandem with the Resource Family Coordinator and the Director of Residential Services to best fill the needs of CAPA’s residential programming. Responsibilities Recruits and screens all direct service volunteers including resource families. Assists in the selection and training of direct service volunteers including resource families. Directs, plans and coordinates all direct service volunteers including supervision and evaluation. Ensures adequate and qualified volunteers necessary to achieve program goals. Develops and administers forms and records to document the volunteer activities. Ensures that volunteer check-in procedures are followed and records of volunteer hours are maintained according to established procedures. Provides assistance and consultation for volunteers as needed and when requested. Maintains volunteer database. Conducts ongoing evaluations of the programs and services delivered by volunteers and implements improvements as necessary. Develops, administers, and reviews policies and procedures which guide the volunteer programs and services, and reflects the overall values of the organization. Presents CAPA volunteer opportunities to the community and seeks ways to grow the volunteer pool. Plans and coordinates volunteer appreciations. Skills Experience in volunteering. Experience in recruiting through various channels. Working knowledge of databases and MS Office (especially Excel). Able to communicate effectively with diverse people. Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities. A pleasant, outgoing personality. Ability to climb stairs, bend, crouch, and lift 50lbs. May require long periods of sitting and standing. Must be 21 years or older. Must have access to reliable transportation, approved insurance coverage (to include being approved by CAPA’s insurance carrier), and a clean driving record.
