$22.00 Per Hour
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
As a part of a highly qualified and collaborative team serving sexual assault survivors, the Volunteer Coordinator manages all aspects of TCS’s robust and critical volunteer program, to include recruitment, training, placement, supervision, and retention of volunteers. This position ensures that all TCS volunteer advocates provide the highest level of support to adult victims of sexual violence, helps TCS make the Tri-County community aware of services for survivors, and support the organization in ways for which they are best suited.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Education, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field
- Preferred experience of 2-3 years with volunteers with a nonprofit or social service organization
- Strong oral and written communications
- Experience in public speaking
- Experience preparing reports
- Knowledge of social media and other basic marketing platforms
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time
- Proficient use of computers and technology
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
- Reliable transportation
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, train, and supervise new volunteers.
- Collect volunteer information, availability, and skill sets. Track and maintain accurate information regarding monthly volunteer hours, as well as the number of active volunteers.
- Use newsletters to keep new and existing volunteers informed about the organization, schedules, and training. Develop, build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with volunteers.
- Administer and review policies and procedures related to the volunteer program. Research and implement best practices for improvement, efficiency and volunteer recognition.
- Attend local and state volunteer coordinator association meetings to stay abreast of trends that impact nonprofit volunteerism .
- Match volunteers to opportunities that suit their skill sets.
- Schedule, organize, and conduct volunteer training six times per year.
- Keep schedules and records of volunteers’ work hours in accordance with agency policy..
- Develop and maintain a training manual for volunteers.
- Attend community outreach events to recruit volunteers from Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties
- Become a certified Victim Service Provider (VSP) within one year of employment
- Assist in hotline and crisis response, participate in staff on-call rotation, and respond to victim crisis/emergencies with a trauma-informed approach
