Job Duties:
The ICPC Consultant provides technical and professional services to counties and other states in the area of Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) to include coordination of services, supervision and safety of children placed across state lines. Ensures that the ICPC laws are being followed by DSS, private agencies, attorneys and other compact states and US Territories.
Receives and reviews packets from other states to be forwarded to the local county for an assessment of homes. Requests additional information from other states and counties if needed after reviewing the case files.
Makes or scans copies of ICPC packets coming and going from and to the county and from and to other states for submission to the appropriate county or state.
Assures home studies are completed by counties, fifty (50) states and two (2) jurisdictions. Makes determinations, approval or denial, for placements when home studies are completed by South Carolina agencies.
Acts as Liaison between CAPSS and ICPC in developing enhancements to ICPC.Assures that progress reports are completed on the placement resource’s home when a child is placed in another state.
Consults with the Office of General Counsel if there are difficult cases or situations.
Trains caseworkers and give technical assistance to the counties on ICPC and National Electronic Interstate Compact Enterprise (NEICE).Answers telephone calls from inquires about ICPC and answers emails from the county offices as well as other states.
Appears in Court when necessary on ICPC cases.
Other projects and related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES A
Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of professional experience in social services programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience. A Master’s Degree and one (1) year of professional experience in social services programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience
