CPSS/MAT

Program Manager. The primary responsibility involves providing peer support services to incarcerated residents who are enrolled in the Medication Assisted Treatment program (MAT) and are transitioning back to the community from the SCDC. Additionally, this position provides administrative oversight for the incarcerated Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) and the program. Peer support services promote community socialization, recovery, self-advocacy, self-help, and development of natural supports through shared experiences. Provides individualized and group peer support services, conducts program-specific lectures, advocates for case management services on behalf of the participants, provides discharge/aftercare planning referral services for successful community reintegration (employment, vocational rehabilitation, housing, etc.) Maintains clinical documentation on all participants, etc. Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire. Minimum and Additional Requirements SCDC Minimum Requirements :

(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources) Candidates must hold active credentials as a Certified Peer Support Specialist or obtain certification through the Addictions Professionals of South Carolina (APSC) within 90 days of hire. Candidates should have a minimum of two (2) years of personal recovery experience, preferably with at least one (1) year of work in a correctional environment or with the forensic population.
