Substance Abuse Counselor TLS Consulting North Fort Myers, FL 33903 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in helping individuals struggling with addiction by providing support, guidance, and therapeutic interventions. This position requires a deep understanding of addiction counseling techniques and the ability to work collaboratively with patients to develop effective treatment plans. Duties Conduct assessments to evaluate the needs of patients and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery. Utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help patients address their substance use issues. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with ICD-9 standards. Collect and analyze data related to patient progress and treatment outcomes. Offer support for co-occurring disorders, including Trauma and PTSD care, as part of a comprehensive treatment approach. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in addiction counseling. Qualifications A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred. Certification or licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor is highly desirable. Experience in addiction counseling and familiarity with various therapeutic modalities. Strong skills in data collection and analysis related to patient care.
