Substance Abuse counselor 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Cuthbert, GA 39840 Full Time position: Monday-Friday , being on Call one week a month and one Saturday a month.
Responsibilities/Function:
The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for screening, intake, and orientation services, timely and accurate clinical documentation, and case management, participation in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, conducting and documenting group education services. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, Certified Addiction counselor I or II, specialized training in addiction, and three (3) years’ experience working with chemically dependent individuals. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a combination of documented other certification/education/training/experience may be substituted that complies with VOASE, Inc., Salary Administration Plan with the expectation that the individual will obtain the Certified Addiction counselor I or II within 3 years of employment. If recovering, the Counselor must have a minimum two-year’s continuous sobriety. The position requires a proven ability in both oral and written communication, case management and counseling theories. It requires a reasonable combination of the following knowledge and skills: work with addictive personality types; and twelve step facilitation skills); use of community resources; and an ability to serve as an appropriate role model. Proficiency with common software and on-line applications is also required. Must possess a valid GA driver’s license and continually meet the requirements for VOASE’s vehicle insurance company.
