About the Position
Counselor position accountable for assisting in the planning, coordination, and direction of a treatment or rehabilitation program for individuals with substance use disorders within a correctional or other treatment setting. Maintains a caseload of clients and provides individual counseling, conducts substance use assessments, prepares biopsychosocial assessment summaries, develops and implements treatment or rehabilitation plans, and participates in case conferences. May function as a lead worker and provide guidance and training to lower-level positions.
What you’ll need to be Successful
Must be able to abide by the MS State Personnel Board and MDOC rules, regulations, and procedures governing the agency and operate in accordance with state and federal laws. Exercise a high degree of sound decision making and effective communication skills, and ensure the safety, security, and order of the facility.
