Full Job Description TITLE:
CASAC REPORTS TO
CCBHC Director SUMMARY:

Provides substance abuse therapeutic services within the CCBHC programs and ensure clients are receiving ongoing assessments as well as targeted interventions to address their current or history of substance abuse to assist clients toward their goals of sobriety. The CASAC will provide all the basic therapeutic services required by patients during their SUD treatment and aftercare experience providing Case Management and conducting assessments, group and individual therapy, continuing care/aftercare assessment and planning, and more. The position required a High School Diploma, NYS Certification, and 350 appropriate training hours in related health field.

JOB SUMMARY

To provide all the basic therapeutic services needed for patients during their treatment and aftercare experience. Tasks include but are not limited to: Providing individual sessions, group sessions, providing case management coordination, conduct family sessions, communicate with referral sources, conduct assessment of patient progress and communicate to the clinical team regarding special needs and procedures. Assessment activities are a clinical function of the role to determine a client’s eligibility for and placement in a level of treatment that is appropriate for patient’s needs. Conduct assessments as assigned for clients in need and as appropriate. Conducting Family sessions – collecting information on the chemically dependent patient, assessing family dynamics and recommending group or individual family therapy.. This also includes facilitation of group and individual family therapy when assigned. Continuing care/aftercare assessment and planning. Assess unresolved and deferred problems and develop after care plans for clients who are completing treatment. The counselor is expected to work within the ethical constraints of the certified addiction counselor and other professional or organizational ethical standards as they apply to the position. Responsible for documenting treatment plans, progress notes, treatment plan updates, case consultations telephone calls and discharge summaries in the patient records in a timely manner. Responsible for completing necessary utilization review information. Assume other responsibilities as needed including represent the facility on committees, assist in training new staff and consult or provide other treatment services as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Active New York State CASAC Certification. Experience in group facilitation, individual counseling and psycho-education a plus. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Excellent oral and written communications skills Excellent time management & prioritization skills required Collaborative spirit and willingness to learn Ability to work independently and as part of a team Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Able to quickly understand and adapt to changes in billing or documentation requirements. Fluency in Spanish

Year Salary:
