ACT IPS Supervisor 2.0 2.0 out of 5 stars 151 Freestate Boulevard, Shreveport, LA 71107 SUMMARY The ACT IPS Supervisor provides oversight to the IPS-supported employment program. The IPS Supervisor ensures good program outcomes by providing training, and supervision, and by working side-by-side with employment specialists (field mentoring). The IPS Supervisor attempts to meet most people who receive IPS services, monitors outcomes and implements quality improvement plans, acts as a liaison to other departments and agencies, supervises up to ten employment specialists, and provides IPS-supported employment services for a caseload of two or three people.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in the ongoing assessment and treatment engagement of ACT clients.
  • Hires, trains, and evaluates employment specialists. Develops expectations for specialists regarding employer contacts, number of job starts each quarter, and employment rate (percentage of people employed on each caseload).
  • Assigns each employment specialist to one or two mental health teams. Attends each mental health treatment team monthly to enhance integrated services.
  • Conducts weekly group supervision following the principles of IPS-supported employment.
  • Provides individual supervision for employment specialists. Supervision includes some office-based sessions, as well as working side-by-side with specialists. Provides frequent (weekly or every other week) field mentoring for specialists who are new to their jobs, and those with outcomes that are less than desired.
  • Collects client outcomes monthly and shares outcomes for the program, as well as individual practitioners, with the IPS-supported employment team each quarter. Helps team members set goals for improvement. Review individual outcomes with each practitioner and develop written plans for improvement. Helps specialists refine their skills so they can improve outcomes.
  • Acts as a liaison to other department coordinators and administrators at the agency. Communicates regularly with mental health supervisors to ensure that services are integrated, to resolve issues, and to function as a proponent for employment.
  • Works with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to coordinate services. Requests monthly meetings between Vocational Rehabilitation counselors and IPS team members to discuss how to help people served by both agencies.
  • Arrange for IPS-supported employment fidelity reviews. Assists with the development of fidelity action plans based on recommendations from the fidelity report.
  • Leads or participates in steering committee meetings to help with IPS-supported employment implementation and sustainability.
  • Provides IPS-supported employment services to a caseload of two to three people. Transports and /or accompanies clients to appointments related to community services and resources.
  • Attends ACT Team meetings to create an integrated, multidisciplinary team approach to services: ~ Daily Team Meetings
  • to organize work for each day and review recent contacts with each client. ~Treatment Planning Meeting
  • weekly or as needed to develop and review treatment plans/decisions ~ Clinical Supervision Meeting-1-2 times monthly for training, case consultation, and professional development of ACT staff
  • Provides On-Call crisis response and intervention services
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable practice standards and guidelines
  • Maintains client confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA requirements
  • Completes all required documentation in a timely manner consistent with agency guidelines.
  • Maintains agency productivity standards with documented consent, and engages client’s family and /or significant others to provide education regarding mental illness and community resources.
MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works in close collaboration with physicians and other health care personnel in recipient evaluation and treatment to further their understanding of significant social and emotional factors underlying the recipient’s housing problem. Completes, as directed, elements of the comprehensive assessment for clients within 60 days of admission and coordinates information with the team to effectively plan treatment. Locates and/or develops self-help and support groups for clients, families, and significant others. Attends ACT Team meetings to create an integrated, multidisciplinary team approach to services: ~ Daily Team Meetings

Maintains a professional relationship with staff, peers, and upper management. Adheres to the policies, procedures, and work rules set by the Agency.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises up to ten employment specialists. EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE
  • The ACT IPS Supervisor position requires a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling or mental health field is preferred.
  • Experience working with people with severe mental illness.
  • At least one (1) year experience in employment services.
  • Successfully completed IPS training prior to providing services.
  • Have current IPS certification or achieve certification within two (2) years.
