MDRS serves through four major programs: Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind (VRB), Office of Special Disability Programs (OSDP), and Disability Determination Services (DDS). Services also include support through Assistive Technology, the Office of Business Development and much more. About the Position This position will function as the Northern Regional Manager for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR). The Northern Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing and guiding the vocational rehabilitation programs in VR Districts 1-4. This role involves supervising district management staff to ensure the effective delivery of services, maintaining compliance with organizational and legal requirements, and driving continuous improvement in client outcomes. Additionally, the Regional Manager will directly supervise and support the psychometrist(s) serving Districts 1-4, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of vocational assessment and evaluation processes. The Regional Manager will also be responsible for addressing client complaints and personnel issues within their assigned districts, working to resolve concerns in a fair and efficient manner while upholding agency policies and best practices. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: o Provide strategic leadership to district management teams in VR Districts 1-4, setting goals, priorities, and performance standards. o Directly supervise and mentor psychometrists serving VR Districts 1-4, ensuring assessments and evaluations follow best practices, ethical guidelines, and organizational protocols. o Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team huddles to monitor progress, address challenges, and encourage professional development. o Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that values collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. o Oversee the implementation of vocational rehabilitation programs and services, ensuring they meet organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and client needs. o Monitor program performance metrics (e.g., client satisfaction, placement rates, cost-effectiveness) and recommend enhancements or corrective actions as needed. o Develop and maintain policies and procedures for consistent service delivery and compliance across VR Districts 1-4. o Ensure alignment with federal, state, and local regulations regarding vocational rehabilitation services, data privacy, and employment laws. o Implement corrective action plans and communicate results to senior leadership as required. o Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, community organizations, and stakeholders within VR Districts 1-4. o Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and public events to promote vocational rehabilitation services and initiatives. o Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, educational institutions, and healthcare providers to expand employment opportunities for clients. o Prepare and present regular performance reports and updates to senior leadership. o Communicate organizational updates, policy changes, and strategic initiatives to district teams in a timely manner. o Collaborate with the communications department to highlight success stories, program achievements, and best practices. o Investigate complaints, gather relevant information, and implement appropriate resolutions while maintaining compliance with agency policies and regulations. o Address personnel issues, including performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, in collaboration with human resources and senior leadership. o Provide mediation and guidance to staff and clients to prevent and resolve disputes effectively. o Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications Hiring agency prefers:
A Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field, plus four (4) years of experience in vocational rehabilitation counseling or a closely related field is required. A Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification is preferred. What you’ll need to be Successful Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation programs and best practices, including relevant federal and state laws; Strong leadership and team management skills to oversee district managers and psychometrists; Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to address client complaints and personnel issues effectively; Data-driven decision-making to improve client outcomes and program effectiveness; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, stakeholders, and clients; Organizational and compliance expertise to ensure adherence to policies and legal requirements. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Master’s Degree, 4+ years of experience, and 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
