Qualifications:
License preferred or Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy (or the equivalent) from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, or related human service with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances, trauma, abuse, and substance use. Experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Therapy. Clinical experience providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents and adults (families). Case Management experience preferred. Group counseling/Psychoeducation experience preferred. Valid Florida driver’s license. Safe driving record. Proof of automobile liability insurance. Bilingual preferred not required

Uses psycho-education with parents/legal guardians to build healthy attachments with their children and increase knowledge of developmental stages/needs of children/adolescents. Serves as an agency representative to community organizations whose primary effects are targeted toward meeting children’s needs. Works closely to identify the appropriate community services for children and their families including educational, social services, legal, medical and other needs.
