Description Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of at-risk youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Youth Specialist at Miami Youth Academy Kendall, Florida. Miami Youth Academy is a moderate risk residential commitment program for male youth aged 14 to 18. This program provides youth comprehensive care, treatment, supervision, and evidence-based substance abuse services. Youth will also receive psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group counseling while in the program. A youth’s length of stay is determined by the youth’s assessed risk to reoffend, their progress in reducing applicable criminogenic needs and risk factors, and the completion of their individualized treatment plan. Pay:

$19.00 an hour

ROP-benefits-and-perks-2 What you will do: Youth Specialist provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth at a residential treatment facility. In this role, you will provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and behavioral/social/physical and educational skill development. Youth Specialist provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs; monitor and document behaviors and activities; and participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities. Youth Specialist collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth’s treatment plan.

To be considered you should:

Be at least 21 years of age ~ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred ~ 6 months experience working with children preferred (paid or volunteer) ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
