Job Description:

As a Summer Activity Camp Counselor at the Avenir Community you will be responsible for creating a fun and engaging environment for children attending the camp. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of all camp participants. This position requires individuals who are responsible, reliable, and great with kids.

Note:

Lifeguard

AND CPR/AED

certifications are required for those applying for the Lead/Assistant Lead Counselor role. Certifications are not mandatory for general counselor positions.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and interact with children during various camp activities, including sports, games, pool, and outdoor adventures. Ensure the safety of all camp participants by closely monitoring activities and enforcing camp rules and guidelines. Assist in the planning and organization of daily activities and events. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes teamwork, respect, and personal growth among campers. Serve as a positive role model for camp participants, exhibiting leadership skills and a positive attitude. Communicate effectively with camp staff, parents, and campers to address any concerns or issues that may arise. Provide assistance and support to campers with special needs or accommodations as necessary. Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and any necessary paperwork. Lead Counselor Position:

In addition to the general counselor responsibilities mentioned above, applicants for the Lead Counselor position must possess the following qualifications:

Lifeguard Certification:

Applicants applying for the Lead & Assistant Lead Counselor positions must hold a valid lifeguard certification from a recognized training program. This certification should include training in water safety, rescue techniques, and CPR/AED for lifeguards.

CPR/AED Certification:

Applicants applying for the Lead & Assistant Lead Counselor positions must have a current certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator). This certification should cover both adult and child CPR/AED techniques.

Note:
