Nature and Scope:

Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Playcenter Lead will create more robust programming and provide leadership to staff members enabling our play center to develop strong, engaged relationships with our members. The Playcenter Lead will assist the Youth Development Director with PNO, acting as a lead, and enabling the branch to offer this important member engagement activity year round. The Play Center Lead will coordinate the Rockwall operation in conjunction with the Play Center, rebuilding programming and managing staffing for growth as participation increases.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a HS diploma or equivalent Must have 3+ years’ experience working with young children, developing engagement plans, and ordering materials Working knowledge of computers including MS Word and MS Excel Exemplify YMCA values and leadership qualities Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve, and effectively manage time. Strong customer service skills and a personal commitment to service and hospitality. Must be at least 21 years of age Pass criminal background and drug screening check CPR certification (may be obtained within the first 30 days of employment).

Responsibilities:

Provide 30 hours of direct delivery service in the Play Center serving as a role model for member engagement and relationship building Plan engagement activities and weekly themes Ordering supplies Manage staff member scheduling Payroll Assist with hiring staff team members Participate in the annual branch Why It Matters Campaign, acting as a lead, mentor, and resource for part times staff team Operate within approved budget with approval from the Youth Development Director Assist in marketing Maintain facilities and equipment in accordance with risk management policies Maintain branch and association certifications for CPR, First Aid, Child Safety, Rock Wall, and others as required by the YMCA of Metro Atlanta Assist in the care of branch Play Center pets Stay informed of all safety procedures. This position has a primary impact on the overall effectiveness of the Youth Development Department, family programs and the success of services to the community. The effectiveness of this position is primarily measured by the stated satisfaction of members and ensuring a safe, clean, controlled, engaging, and fun environment.

Ergonomics:
