Summer Camp Counselor White Birch Center Henniker, NH 03242 Summary White Birch Extended Education Program is seeking a Full Time Summer Camp Youth Counselor. We are looking for energetic, engaging, and caring Summer Camp Youth Counselor staff to provide care to multiple school aged children. Duties A camp counselor is responsible for assisting the Extended Education program Coordinator and other Group Leaders in the general supervision and management of a classroom of school age children; including providing a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which young children can grow physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively and planning and executing the educational program in accordance with the purpose and goals of White Birch Center. Counselors are responsible for supervising children on field trips and water activities during the Summer Camp Program as well as maintaining accurate child counts and groupings. Requirements Summer Camp Counselor applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must meet one of the following criteria: Experience working with school-age children, totaling 600 hours. Documentation of at least 3 credits in elementary education, human growth and development, behavior management or recreation, or early childhood education, awarded by a regionally accredited college university. Applicants must be able to work as a part of a team and show imitative and excitement when planning and implementing activities. Applicants must be able to work approximately 8-hour shifts within our center’s operating hours of 7:30AM to 5:00PM.
