The Staten Island YMCA Counseling Service is seeking a Youth Counselor who will be responsible for providing care to a designated caseload, including providing direct individual, group, and family sessions, coordinating specialized program services, and managing caseloads.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitation of sessions including, but not limited to, outreach/engagement activities, group, individual, family, crisis intervention, case management, and referrals. Clinician will conduct screenings and assessments and determine the appropriate level of care, treatment planning, and discharge planning. Therapist/Clinician will participate in diagnostic and treatment plan development in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor. Coordination of care and case management for designated caseload: completing ongoing reporting, outreach, referrals, and dialogue with professionals working with the caseload. Participation in team meetings, individual/group supervision, community coalition meetings, and identified training opportunities.
Fiscal Management:
attendance management, census administration, case retention, family support, fee collection, and outreach presentations. Conduct urine toxicology screens. Maintain superior
Quality Assurance & Program Quality:
contract and regulation compliance, fulfilling clinical standards and best practices. Timely and comprehensively complete all related documentation. Will serve as the Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of the on-site supervisors when requested/approved. When appropriate, will serve as the task supervisor for interns/volunteers. In the absence of colleagues, will serve as an alternate clinician for clients. Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience:
CASAC-T, CASAC
Provisional, CASAC (any level), MHC-LP, MSW-LP, MFT-LP, LMSW, LMHC, and LCSW. Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder Counseling and the Criminal Justice & Child Welfare Systems. Knowledge of motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care.
