POSITION SUMMARY
Under supervision of the Childcare Director/Program Director/Branch Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Day Camp/Adventure Club Counselor is responsible for providing program leadership in a day camp group. The Day Camp/Adventure Club Counselor will assist the Childcare Director/Program Director/Branch Director with various branch activities such as special events, and other activities that occur on various occasions. Leadership for specific camper group Maintain discipline within camper group Follow emergency procedures in case of accidents Remain with camper group at all times Plan and implement open period activities Maintain camp equipment Maintain reports and attendance records Follow established camp procedures and guidelines Follow the YMCA mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all
Qualifications:
Exposure to small structured group Must be at least 16 years of age Interest in children and significant evidence of emotional maturity, good moral character, judgment, integrity and leadership capability. Ability to create and work within a Christian environment so that each camper has the opportunity for spiritual growth. Ability to adapt to changing needs and circumstances Current certification in First Aid and CPR Carrying, sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking, running, crouching, lifting (25lbs), and walking
