Job Description

Position Summary:

The Therapist is responsible for providing a continuum of trauma-focused therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and non-offending family members. These services include individual, sibling, and family counseling, psychoeducational groups, court guidance, case management, and child advocacy. All services are delivered in a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and financially accessible manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Services Provide clinical assessments and therapy to children, adolescents, non-offending adults, and families impacted by child abuse. Facilitate psychoeducational groups for guardians, caretakers, and adolescents. Maintain a caseload of 22-25 patients, with a minimum of 70% of time spent on direct client services. Deliver therapy sessions weekly, biweekly, or as clinically indicated. Offer immediate intervention and stabilization services when necessary. Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide parent education. Documentation and Compliance Complete initial treatment assessments, psychosocial assessments, and standardized assessment tools (e.g., BASC, CATS, TSCC, WASI-II). Ensure all clinical documentation is completed in accordance with organizational timelines, including: Phase II Signature Packet

  • due within 24 hours of intake Initial Treatment Plan
  • due within 24 hours of intake Psychosocial Assessment
  • due within 75 days of intake and annually Master Treatment Plan
  • due 4-6 weeks from intake and every six months Progress Notes
  • due each Monday at noon following the session CFT Notes, Case Notes, Safety Plans, Referrals
  • due on the date of service Monthly Summary
  • due by the 7th of the following month Discharge Summary and Questionnaire
  • due within 24 hours of discharge Psychological Evaluation Report
  • due within 7 days of final test administration Collaboration and Communication Coordinate services with law enforcement, child protective services, medical staff, forensic interviewers, and other team members.

Communicate regularly with clients’ guardians, referral sources, and school officials. Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and staff discussions. Provide court testimony when necessary. Meetings and Supervision Attend weekly clinical meetings, staff meetings, and supervisory sessions. Attend monthly center-wide meetings and professional development trainings. Participate in at least 24 hours of continuing education annually to maintain licensure and develop skills in trauma-informed care. Other Responsibilities Stay on-site until 7 PM at least once per week on a scheduled basis. Participate in research protocols, self-care, and team-building activities. Represent Childhelp through community education and speaking engagements. Maintain professionalism and a child-friendly approach in all interactions. Assist with the overall development of the program by participating in committees and carrying out other duties as assigned.
