(Juvenile Court) Shelby County Government – 3.6 Memphis, TN Job Details Full-time $2,853.41 – $3,727.33 a month 23 hours ago Qualifications Public speaking Mid-level Microsoft Office Bachelor’s degree Computer skills Full Job Description Position Summary Responsible for planning, organizing, investigating and coordinating all aspects of juvenile court cases between internal departments of Juvenile Court and external departments; ensuring protection of child’s rights, ensuring effective and efficient processing of cases.

Pay Grade:

45 Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications 1. Two (2) years of counseling experience, preferably with youth; AND 2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, behavioral sciences or related degree; OR 3. An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience. 4.

PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Imports traffic payments, generate reports for the Traffic Department, and prepare and maintain Juvenile Court Traffic Citations. 2. Verifies and enter traffic tickets into the case management database, ensuring accuracy, addressing discrepancies, and processing payments. 3. Reviews and verify information on Morning Reports and assign traffic cases to Juvenile Services Specialist II, schedule conferences, and prepare related correspondence. 4. Handles phone and walk-in inquiries regarding traffic tickets, juvenile summons, Orders of Denials, School Exemptions, custody, and visitation. 5. Assembles case materials, process Court records and documents for the Community Services Program, and maintain efficiency in handling petitions, summonses, and subpoenas for the Youth Justice Division. 6. Prepares and process petitions, summonses, subpoenas, transfer papers, and other Court documents while ensuring timely entry and scanning into the JCS system. 7. Researches, prepares, enters, and scans complaints into the JCS system. 8. Maintains and update the Juvenile Summonses Tracking Spreadsheet while ensuring accuracy in record-keeping. 9. Collects and maintains data related to court programs and services, as well as pull and review school reports, including grades, attendance, IEPs, 504 Plans, and psychological evaluations. 10. Prepares post-adjudication documentation for the Youth Justice Division. 11. Performs additional duties as assigned. KSA’s 1. Knowledge of modern counseling techniques. 2. Knowledge of Juvenile Justice System. 3. Ability to plan, organize and maintain an even flow of work. 4. Ability to deal courteously with the public. 5. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with associate agencies. 6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-worker and clients. 7. Knowledge of community resources for children and families. 8. Ability to write meaningful reports and case histories. 9. Knowledge of juvenile problems and causes. 10. Ability to involve needed sources and resources in the guidance and rehabilitation of children. 11. Ability to engage in public speaking required. 12. Ability to use a computer in a PC network environment. 13. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
