Job Description
The City of Amory Animal Resource Center Support Staff has the primary function is of daily shelter operations, client support, resource coordination, and maintaining a healthy and safe environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain all environments of the AARC
- Ensure that the building, grounds, containment areas, etc are clean and not damaged or in need of maintenance.
- Should maintenance be needed, required to report to Coordinator or Manager as soon as possible.
- Clean and sanitize all kennels and cages per policy and procedure
- Clean and sanitize all blankets, toys, bedding, bowls (water and food), etc used for animals
- Responsible for feeding, sheltering, safety, activity, and more for shelter residents.
- Verifying all dangerous animals are held in a different area and not in contact with visitors. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The immediate supervisor is AARC Manager.
This person is supervised daily and does not directly supervises any full-time and part-time employees. This position works shift hours year round. Work is performed indoors as well as outdoors. The position has accountability for safety and legal issues related to the work for which this position is responsible.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk/run, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must complete a non-DOT pre-employment physical and drug screen. Employees are responsible for maintaining physical fitness levels in congruence with job requirements. The employee must lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
