ANIMAL SHELTER ATTENDANT
(PT) Granville County Oxford, NC 27565 Are you passionate about helping animals and making a difference in your community? Granville County Animal Shelter is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Animal Shelter Attendant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who is responsible, dependable, and eager to work hands-on with animals in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
What You’ll Do:
Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and cleaning Sanitize kennels, cages, and shelter areas to ensure a safe, healthy environment Assist the public with adoptions, lost pet claims, and general inquiries Administer basic medications and vaccinations under supervision Support shelter operations, including handling sick or injured animals Maintain accurate records of animal care and medical needs Promote responsible pet ownership and support community outreach
What We’re Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience working with animals (personal or professional) preferred Strong communication skills and a positive attitude Valid NC Driver’s License Ability to obtain Rabies Vaccinator Certification (training provided) Willingness to work in varied conditions—indoors and outdoors, in all weather
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, and 50 lbs frequently Able to bend, kneel, lift, and stand for extended periods Comfortable working around loud noises, odors, and a variety of animal breeds Why Join Us?
