As an Animal Care and Control Officer 3, you’ll be at the forefront of animal rescue and protection in Nashville-Davidson County.
What You’ll Do:
Lead and Mentor:
Function as the lead Animal Control Officer, training, coaching, and scheduling Animal Control Officers 1 and 2.
Patrol and Respond:
Patrol assigned areas in Nashville-Davidson County, responding to calls for assistance and rescuing animals in need.
Investigate and Enforce:
Investigate allegations of animal cruelty, apprehend stray animals, and enforce local and state animal control laws.
Rescue and Care:
Transport injured and ill animals to shelters and veterinarians, perform field euthanasia when necessary, and ensure humane treatment of all animals.
Community Engagement:
Address groups on animal control safety and health issues, and participate in outreach and liaison programs.
Documentation and Legal Support:
Prepare investigative reports, legal documents, and testify in court as needed.
