SCSO is an Equal Opportunity Employer Job Description The Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Technician will be devoted to performing daily maintenance of computer-based records related to criminal justice information. Other work will involve data entry and retrieval, processing all records and associated paperwork for UCR, monitoring, review, and correction of UCR information. General Description of Duties The Records Section is the repository for all records and reports documented by Sheriff’s Office personnel. It functions as the memory bank for the entire agency and assembles information from a wide variety of resources to maintain complete and accurate case files. The UCR Records Technician is devoted to performing daily maintenance of computer-based records related to criminal justice information. Other work involves date entry and retrieval, processing all records and associated paperwork for UCR, monitoring, review, and correction of UCR information.
Tasks:
Complete assignment as directed; maintain work areas; knowledge of general orders; retrieve and disseminate information for bureau detectives/agency personnel; maintain state attorney office logs; attempt to locate utilization; utilize mugsearch program; generate reports; receive, route, and disperse telephone calls/messages; sort and distribute mail; maintain and update files/reports/documentation; scanning of documents; oversee accurate collection and submission of statistical criminal activity date; review reports accuracy and completeness; archive complaint records; send documentation to SAO; and conduct on-the-job training. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma
Computer literate demonstrating proficiency inputting and retrieving information required to perform position tasks.
Detail-oriented demonstrating excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently as well as multi-task.
Ability to work in a time-sensitive but highly confidential environment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information, verbal and written, to citizens, courts, and colleagues.
Knowledge of public record laws and exemptions.

Long Term Salary Cap:
$75,878.40 The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office requires all employees to have either an associates degree, 60 equivalent hours from an accredited college or university or the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test. The Wonderlic Basic Skills Test measures verbal and quantitative skills. Sworn
