About this opportunity:
Accepts and processes residents staying in the Family Haven Shelter. Completes assigned documentation for intake and discharge of residents. Monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules. Transports residents as needed. Ensures that rooms are in proper order before arrival of residents. Answers telephone and responds to questions regarding the lodge/shelter operations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include: Ability to work with the public encompassing all types of behaviors Knowledge of general office procedures and practices Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking frequently Ability to operate a motor vehicle to transport residents of the program to various appointments and locations. What we are looking for in you: High school diploma or G.E.D. and One-year experience performing security or social service work preferred Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid State Driver’s License Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.
