Transport Officer City of Decatur, AL Decatur, AL Job Details Full-time $37,059.96 – $56,391.11 a year 2 days ago Qualifications Entry level Full Job Description JOB This position is responsible for the safe transportation of prisoners as required and assigned.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Enters arrestee information into the computerized database; updates arrestee information.

Prepare and submit various reports and documents as required.

Safely transports prisoners from arrest locations to Morgan County Detention facility.

Searches inmates for weapons and contraband.

Secures prisoners with restraints.

Collects booking reports from officers.

Safely transports inmates to/from court.

Monitors inmates requiring medical attention; safely transports to and from hospital, and monitors inmates in hospital.

Inspects transport vehicles and equipment; checks fluid levels and tires; checks exterior of vehicle for damage; inspects vehicle or contraband.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Work may be performed outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
