Job Description

  • Veterans Preference
  • Multiple positions available. Hiring for Florida Women’s Reception Center, Marion Correctional Institution and Lowell Correctional Institution,
  • No prior experience is necessary; all training is provided.
  • Summary:
  • Correctional Officers are responsible for the supervision, care, custody, control, and physical restraint, when necessary, of inmates in a Correctional Institution or facility.
  • Requirements:
  • At a minimum, successful applicants must meet the following qualifications
  • Be at least 18years of age due to hazardous occupation (no maximum age requirements
  • Be a United States Citizen
  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a valid driver’s license for required travel
  • Employer conducts drug screening, fingerprinting and background investigation which includesfelony convictions; misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement; misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence
  • Employer may have additional requirements
  • Following steps required to becoming a Correctional Officer (to be considered all steps must be completed).
