Description of Work “As of January 1, 2025, there are new increase adjustments to the state’s pay plans which were approved by the State Human Resources Commission, effective January 1, 2025. This position is located at Caswell Correctional Center with a duty assignment to the medium custody facility. This facility houses and provide services for 484 inmates with a staff size of 155. Work in this class provides first-line supervision for Correctional Officer II’s in a medium custody facility. Employee supervises officer activities and performance and ensures that the custody, security, and welfare of inmates is maintained. Employee conducts shift line-up, makes shift assignments to include duty area and post; and inspects all personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post. This position will complete, review, and maintain time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations, and administrative forms. This position will account for persons and funds to ensure that all assigned equipment is operationally ready and implement operational procedures and ensure rules and regulations are followed according to policy. Caswell Correctional Center is located in Blanch, NC in Caswell County and is a medium custody, male felon unit with a maximum capacity of 484 offenders.
