out of 5 stars Robeson County, NC Description of Work Reporting directly to the Correctional Housing Unit Manager II, this position is responsible for ensuring security and safety regulations are being followed within the housing units. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Providing direct supervision of CRV Officers in a 24/7 environment. Coordinating and monitoring unit (dorm) movements within the facility to ensure they are conducted in a safe, secure, and orderly manner. Serving as a visible presence to the program participants, developing and assigning chores to program participants, and assisting with orientation and intake duties. Conducting daily inspections to ensure security, safety, cleanliness of unit, and reconciling participant count. Performing the duties of a CRV Officer when absences occur. Ensuring program participants attend and participate in assigned daily activities to include, but not limited to, programming, recreational programs, leisure time activities, visitation, and job assignments. Responding to program participants in crisis, resolving problems, and addressing immediate needs until further communication and direction can take place with the Probation/Parole Officer. Ensuring staff are alert, properly trained, informed, and prepared to perform job responsibilities under a variety of conditions. Ensuring proper protocol is followed with regard to security and control of protective equipment and ensuring equipment is functioning properly; that staff are assigned the required safety equipment and trained in its use. Collaborating with onsite Probation / Parole Officers on the administration of incentives and consequences. This contingency management system will be a major component of managing offender behavior, specifically addressing both positive and negative behaviors. This team environment is to enhance the offenders’ optimal performance in programming areas. Ensuring equipment needs are met, including repairs and/or replacement. Ensuring office supplies, cleaning supplies, uniforms, clothing, bed linens, and other budgeted items are issued, as necessary. Ensuring completion of regularly scheduled and random total facility searches and report results. Serving as a team member in informational meetings that offenders will attend. Serving as back-up in the absence of the CRV Correctional Housing Unit Manager II. Ensuring proper custodial supervision is provided based on the size of the group and the nature of the activity. Preparing operation reports, memorandums, and documents such as Incident Reports, Accident Reports, Use of Force Reports, Disciplinary Reports, and Shift Narratives.
