Unit Supervisor- Full-Time (4pm-12am, Sun-Thurs) 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars 24 Central Avenue, Waterbury, CT 06702
Summary :
- The Unit Supervisor position is responsible for the coordination and management of facility staff and client direct care services.
The Unit Supervisor will provide programmatic information to internal and external customers. The Unit Supervisor will be responsible for developing and reviewing appropriate and timely documentation for all services provided. The Unit Supervisor will be in compliance with all guidelines imposed by the Department of Corrections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervision of staff to include staff performance appraisals and participation in the disciplinary process.
- Perform a range of activities including: monitoring of facility logs, monthly medication audit, scheduling of facility fire and disaster drills, auditing of client files
- Perform all aspects of on call duties
- Coordination and supervision of new employees
- Knowledge and understanding of all Department of Corrections contractual agreements including the Residential Providers Manual
- Assist in the supervision of client fee collection and documentation
- Verification of employment in the absence of Case Managers
- Supervision and timeliness of submission of incident reports
- Assist with client satisfaction survey process
- Assist with House Meetings and Orientation Group facilitation
- Participation and co facilitation of staff meetings
- Monitoring submission of urine drug screens by same sex clients
- Complete all mandatory agency trainings within required time limits
- Interface with Parole Officers in Assistant Director/Directos absence
- Manage staff to ensure compliance of the Department of Corrections regulations as stated in the Residential Providers Manual.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
Knowledge of:
Electronic Healthcare Record systems. General office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite Ability to:
- Supervise staff, including the development of performance evaluations.
- Interact effectively with representative of funding sources and referral agencies.
- Analyze and solve problems effectively and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Manage priorities to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills.
- Work and make decisions independently.
- Assimilate new information and technology.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree with a concentration in the area of Counseling or Criminal Justice
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Experience within the criminal justice environment
- Satisfactory completion of the introductory employment period
Other:
- Must be: ethical, self-motivated, dependable/reliable and detailed oriented.
- Must be able to interface easily with clients, staff, and other management.
- Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20 pounds objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
