QUESTIONS
Description of Work Reporting directly to the Associate Warden, this position will provide supervision for subordinate staff regarding their assigned tasks with male offenders in a Medium Custody State Corrections Facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Supervising subordinate staff. Conducting shift line up, making shift assignments and inspecting all personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post.
Completing reviews and maintaining employee time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations and administrative forms,
Ensuring that all assigned equipment is operational, providing daily inspection of offenders living areas, medical, kitchen areas and the facility to identify possible safety hazards and ensuring the operation is running smoothly.
Identifying training needs and coordinating delivery of training to subordinate staff
Conducting interviews and investigations, searches of staff, visitors and offenders for contraband and responding to emergency situations as needed.
Serving as Officer-In-Charge of the Facility. This is a full-time position working rotating shifts with State Benefits. The selected candidate may be scheduled to work any shift and will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staffing coverage. Note to

Richmond Correctional Institution is located in Hoffman, North Carolina and houses up to 420 male offenders in a medium custody facility. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. Necessary Special Qualifications:
