MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Oversees the examination of crime and incident data. Supervises the evaluation of crime history and criminal activity patterns to identify trends for operational deployment, tactical intervention, strategic planning, and management analysis. Supervises and coordinates the activities of Crime Analysis by performing the following duties. #oj

Minimum Requirements:

+ At least 18 years of age. + Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English. + U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card. + Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated. + No illegal drug usage within the past year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis. + Bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B.S.) in Criminal Justice, Statistical Analysis, or closely related field AND two (2) years related experience and/or training in crime analysis, investigative, and/or intelligence analysis; or the equivalent combination of experience and education. + If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows: + Two (2) years of direct experience for an Associate Degree + Four (4) years of direct experience for a Bachelor’s Degree + Six (6) years of direct experience for a Master’s Degree + Must have successfully completed the following: Crime Analysis Applications Training Course and State Certification of Crime Analysts. Must maintain certifications listed above once achieved. + Ability to monitor employee performance for accomplishment of tasks and objectives; review completed work assignments. Complete associated reports and evaluations. Analyze, resolve, or assist subordinates in resolving work problems and conflicts. Counsel and coach subordinates. Conduct employee performance evaluations. + Ability to train/mentor new staff and other agency personnel. + Ability to present crime analysis software applications, statistical presentations, or career pathing information to Command Staff, local universities, and at conferences. + Ability to perform administrative duties to include correspondence, payroll, and statistical reports. Prepare and review reports and documents as necessary. Maintain confidential files, including personnel files. + Ability to track and monitor designated personnel. Prepare and revise work schedules to ensure that sufficient shift personnel are available for workload demands. Supervisory Responsibilities:
