Program Director Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) . The ideal candidate will have experience in emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, or forensic nursing, and will be responsible for providing trauma-informed, client-centered care to survivors of sexual violence.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Florida Two years of clinical nursing experience preferred (ER, OB/GYN, or forensic nursing) Completion of a Sexual Assault Forensic Medical Examination Program approved by the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence (FCASV) or the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) Ability to respond on-site within 60 minutes to locations in
Orange and Osceola Counties Primary Responsibilities:
For each medical forensic case, the FNE will: Perform a client-focused, case-specific medical forensic exam Assess the physical condition of sexual assault survivors Document all injuries thoroughly and accurately Collect and preserve forensic evidence Provide or facilitate prophylactic treatment for STIs and emergency contraception Recommend and coordinate immediate or follow-up medical care Educate and counsel survivors on medical options, treatments, and informed decision-making Maintain compliance with the Florida Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Protocol, VSC Policies & Procedures, and county-specific protocols Participate cooperatively in the prosecution phase when required
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide and maintain availability for a variety of shifts , including day, night,weekends, and holidays Attend and participate in monthly chart reviews and team meetings Maintain ongoing education and training related to forensic nursing and trauma-informed care
