CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE ANALYST
New England State Police Information Network 124 Grove Street, Franklin, MA 02038 NESPIN is seeking a full time Criminal Intelligence Analyst. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, during regular business hours. Duty location is NESPIN headquarters in Franklin, Massachusetts. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide case-specific analytical assistance to member agencies in the areas of communication analysis, location data analysis, case analysis, link analysis, cryptocurrency analysis, and social media analysis. Prepare written and oral reports summarizing the results of analytical work. Review relevant literature to keep current on trends regarding criminal activity and to identify patterns or similarities that may be of value to member agencies. Represent NESPIN analytical unit during information sharing meetings and trainings and provides any relevant material for sharing with members through NESPIN’s publications. Attend periodic training on specific criminal topics and analytical tools that will assist them to better serve law enforcement members. Testify as needed in court on work product for case-related analysis. Perform other related duties or projects assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field, with knowledge of criminal justice system. 3-5 years of experience (within the last 5 years) working in an intelligence gathering or investigative environment. Knowledge of criminal intelligence techniques and analytical procedures to effectively conduct analysis of criminal investigations and other intelligence projects involving interrelated subject areas. Knowledge of cellular phone technology and record analysis is highly desired. Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication competencies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, GIS mapping platforms, i2 Analysts Notebook, and intelligence databases. Ability to travel for courtroom testimony and training (less than 10% of the time). Ability to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of information and investigations coordinated, developed, and/or assisted by the NESPIN. The final candidate will be offered conditional employment and must pass a State Police background check before employment commences.
